Super Admin
This job has three parts:
- 1. Administration of the internal SDS network;
- 2. Development of a remote secure update mechanism;
- 3. Development of a monitoring and management system.
1. Administration of the SDS internal network
This is a classic network administration job, managing the SDS internal network, DNS, mail, bugzilla, ldap, crm... This part of the job should represent between 20 and 30% of the workload.
2. Development of a remote update mechanism
To remotely update the products, a technical solution should be developed to transfer a system image and check its integrity. The machine should be able to verify the origin of the image, and to have a fallback if the image is not working properly.
3. Development of a monitoring and management system
A remote monitoring and control mechanism will be implemented to keep track of the status of the products. This will allow systems administrators to be proactive before any potential failures (e.g.; memory corruption, overheating, other...). The implementation may require a database and tools that can aggregate information from few hundreds of products initially, then thousands, and finally size the management system to manage a million of IMS products.
Our goal is to deliver a turnkey solution to our customer that hides the complexity of system administration of the machine, while having the advanced underlying tools to potentially manage several thousands of machines remotely.
